Operation DLL Cares
Established in 2008, Operation DLL Cares, organized by the Darien Little League, has been assembling military care packages and letters for US troops over each Memorial Day weekend.  Since its inception, Operation DLL Cares has disseminated over 1,600 care packages (14,000 pounds of donations sent overseas).
Details:  This year, Operation DLL Cares will take place over the weekend of June 3rd & 4th at McGuane Park.  Players are asked to donate supplies for care packages and come to McGuane to pack individual care packages or write letters to the troops.  All activities are held at McGuane Field House.

Contact:  Sarah Das ( )

As events get closer, specific details on activities will be communicated through DYBS emails and this web page.

DYBS Community Outreach

The DYBS Association has a long tradition of community service and encourages parents and players to join us in participating in the following programs sponsored by the DYBS.DLL Cares & DYBS Equip Drive

DYBS Pitch in for Baseball Uniform Drive
The DYBS Uniform Drive was established in 2009 and has donated close to 6000 DYBS jerseys to underprivileged communities throughout the world.   As uniform drive representatives for AA, AAA, Minors, Major League and Babe Ruth teams, hundreds of volunteers have coordinated collections for their individual teams.

All proceeds go to Pitch in for Baseball, a nonprofit organization that donates gently used baseball and softball equipment and uniforms to underserved communities in the United States and throughout the world.  See www.pitchinforbaseball.com for more information.

A uniform drive representative for each team collects cleaned jerseys  from players and coaches with the goal of getting at least 12 jerseys to outfit a new team.

8th Annual DYBS Uniform Drive for Pitch in for Baseball

DYBS is once again collecting softball and baseball jerseys (no hats or visors) so that kids who are less fortunate can learn to play and love the game of baseball.  In just six years, the DYBS Uniform Drive has donated approximately 5000 jerseys!

Uniforms are donated to Pitch in for Baseball; a nonprofit organization that donates gently used baseball & softball equipment and uniforms to underserved communities in the United States and around the world.   If you’d like to learn more about Pitch in For Baseball, go  http://www.pitchinforbaseball.org/html/wherewehelp.html to see a short video on the impact this organization has in the US and throughout the world.
